I like to help people. Really, I do. So it totally buoyed my spirits to do something nice for a stranger...twice!

Sunday, Lido Cafe in Hyde Park:
I helped save a woman from total embarrassment by informing her gently that she had her skirt tucked into her underpants before she left the loo.

Tuesday, Leicester Square tube station:
After friendly banter with the ticket attendant in the help booth revealed that he prefers cake to candy, P and I went around the corner to a Chinese bakery and returned to the help booth with a slice of Swiss roll. His delighted reply when I plopped the bag in the coin tray, beneath the bullet proof glass: "Naughty girl!" and a thumbs up!
